Using the UDL Framework to Support Diverse Learners in Graduate Social Work Education

Universal Design for Learning (UDL) is a framework for designing learning experiences that anticipate barriers, and create instructional methods, materials, and assessments that work for everyone. This panel discussion aims to share faculty experiences implementing UDL strategies and discuss implications of using the UDL Framework to advance anti-ableist practices.

Learning Objectives:

At the end of this session, attendees should be able to:
  1. understand the core principles of Universal Design for Learning and their relevance in social work education.
  2. describe one example of an assignment using a UDL framework to support diverse learners in social work education.
  3. demonstrate two approaches to assess current curriculum strategies to improve accessibility, and reduce ableism in social work education.
