Director, Multicultural Education and Training (IDEAL) Temple University
This interactive workshop explores intersectionality as described by Crenshaw and investigates how intersectionality impacts disabled individuals. By exploring our own social identities and listening to firsthand accounts of the impact of intersectionality on disabled individuals, we will develop plans to hold space for the disabled individuals with whom we work.
Learning Objectives:
At the end of this session, attendees should be able to:
Differentiate between intersectionality and intersecting identities.
Identify how intersectionality affects the students with whom they work.
Develop plans to hold a space for disabled individuals that honors all of their identities.
