Envisioning multi-modal curriculum for social work field instructor training and support

This presentation explores a multimodal, technology-supported field instructor training approach developed to enhance accessibility and engagement. Participants will examine effective training strategies, including virtual monthly consults, didactic workshops, and asynchronous learning for field instructors, while engaging in interactive discussions on strengthening field instruction quality, relationship building, and student supervision support.

Learning Objectives:

At the end of this session, attendees should be able to:
  1. Upon completion, the participant will be able to understand the significance of field instructor training and support in enhancing field instruction quality and student social work education experience.
  2. Upon completion, the participant will be able to consider various training formats (e.g., orientations, seminars, workshops) and identify key elements that contribute to effective field instructor training, particularly in the context of incorporating multimodal and technology-supported learning to meet the diverse needs of field instructors.
  3. Upon completion the participants will be able to develop multimodal strategies that promote relationship building and networking among field instructors and university faculty, enhancing collaboration and support within the field education community.
