Assistant Teaching Professor

Currently an Assistant Teaching Professor within the Office of Field Education at the University of Washington School of Social Work (SSW), Karen began her social work career providing child and adolescent outpatient mental health services in New York City. After several years in community-based work with youth and families, she transitioned to school-based mental health, serving both as a clinician and consultant to public schools with on-site mental health programs for students. In addition to her clinical work, Karen has focused on practicum education for MSW students at several schools of social work, as a field instructor, field advisor and currently as field faculty. Karen teaches practice classes for the clinical specialization and practicum seminars within the MSW program at UW SSW. Focus on teaching and advising students through practicum experiences and providing training and support for Field instructors.
