People with increased vulnerability to HIV, such as persons living with disabilities, are an important community for intersectional HIV prevention. This presentation invites attendees to explore the importance of integrating disability justice principles and social work values in addressing the needs of people whose lived experiences intersect these social identities.

Learning Objectives:

At the end of this session, attendees should be able to:

Participants will understand the importance of embracing inclusive models of sexual well-being, human rights, and disability joy when engaging with people living with disabilities
Participants will learn how to navigate intersectional structural stigma in a way that promotes equity and inclusive social work practice
Participants will understand how proactive approaches to disability rights and HIV prevention can reduce HIV vulnerability among persons living with a disability.
