Diana M. DiNitto, PhD, ACSW, LCSW, AADC, is Cullen Trust Centennial Professor in Alcohol Studies and Education and a Distinguished Teaching Professor at the University of Texas at Austin where she serves on the faculty of the Steve Hicks School of Social Work. She is a fellow of the American Academy of Social Work and Social Welfare and was recognized as a Social Work Pioneer by the National Association of Social Workers. She has long-standing interests in substance use and social welfare policy and is the coauthor of Chemical Dependency: A Systems Approach, 4th ed. and Social Welfare: Politics and Public Policy, 8th ed. (Pearson publishers).
