Julie Stevens, LCSW, is a Clinical Assistant Professor of Social Work at Utah State University, where she teaches at the Statewide Southwest Campuses in Nephi and Ephraim. A USU alumna who began her studies through the Statewide system, she earned her Master of Social Work from the University of Utah in 2017 and has taught at USU since 2022. Julie is dedicated to place-based education, helping students stay rooted in their communities while pursuing their degrees, building local networks, and addressing regional needs. Her work includes supporting equity and inclusion, particularly through efforts to help Indigenous students overcome barriers to licensure. She integrates real-world experience into her teaching to prepare students to become compassionate, effective social workers who can lead and serve where they live.
