Jacqueline T. Dyer, PhD, MSW, LICSW, is the Program Director and Associate Professor of Practice of the Doctorate of Social Work Program at Simmons University, Boston. In her role as DSW Director, she developed the DEIPAR social justice framework that has been infused into each course in the 15-course curriculum for the program. Her presentations at the School of Social Work faculty meetings facilitated the adoption of the framework into the Bachelor, Master’s and PhD programs at Simmons University.
Dr. Dyer has been a social worker for more than 30 years in private practice & in leadership in community programs, and is trained in EMDR. The trajectory of her career grew from doing outreach, advocacy, program development, to leadership roles in community programs and in academia. She has provided supervision for other clinicians, and continues to provide direct clinical services. Dr. Dyer has developed and facilitated community and professional trainings for community providers incorporating trauma-informed and culturally appropriate strategies into their work. She has published articles, book chapters, and is the lead co-editor of the textbook, Infusing Social Justice into Social Science Practice. Her research interests include clergy compassion fatigue and the intersection of faith and intimate partner violence.
Dr. Dyer has served on the boards of several community organizations and is currently the Vice Chair of the Board for Amirah, a community organization that provides services and support for those seeking to break free from exploitation. Dr. Dyer is also a member of the CSWE Council on Leadership Development.
