Nurit Fischer-Shemer, is a social work educator and the interprofessional coordinator for the social work department in the University of the Pacific . Her research and work are community-based, with a focus on health care settings, losses, grief processes, generational trauma, coping and resilience mechanisms within life span perspectives. Integrating in her work her past experience as pharmacist and science education researcher, she believes in a holistic approach to health which recognizes the whole person in their environment, and in interprofessional collaboration in health systems.
