Interprofessional Collaboration in Law and Social Work: Advancing Trauma-Informed Practices

A multi-part interprofessional training project utilizing a social work and law partnership to disseminate evidence-based, trauma-informed practices to professionals of various backgrounds. Asynchronous modules and synchronous workshops focus on the integration of social work competencies, applicability of daily concepts in traumatology, and individual and systemic interactions with individuals and communities.

Learning Objectives:

At the end of this session, attendees should be able to:
  1. Describe the role of interprofessional education in bridging trauma-informed social work practices with legal practice.
  2. Discuss systemic approaches to implementing trauma-informed practices within law and policy settings.
  3. Develop strategies for incorporating trauma-informed knowledge into professional practice for both social work and law professionals.
