Ms. Angela McClellan is a recent graduate of Baylor University’s Garland School of Social Work where she earned her MSW degree. During her time at Baylor University, she worked as a graduate student assistant on several research projects focusing on persons living with dementia and their family caregivers. Many of her publications explored constructs such as hope, gratitude, meaning in life, and religious coping styles as they pertain to caregivers, as well as the role of spirituality in nursing home social workers.
Currently, Ms. McClellan works as a research assistant at the University of Houston Graduate College of Social Work. Her work has involved assisting in the Caregiver-Provided Life Review study where she guided caregiver-care recipient dyads through a multi-week life review intervention designed to reduce depression in persons living with dementia. She played an active role in recruiting, screening, and assessing participants, interviewing caregivers, and authoring several publications. She has presented her work at the CSWE APM, the Gerontological Society of America (GSA) Annual Scientific Meeting, as well as the Society for Social Work and Research (SSWR) Annual Conference.
