Susan P. Robbins, Ph.D., LCSW is Professor Emerita at the University of Houston, Graduate College of Social Work. She has been a clinical and forensic social worker and educator for over 40 years. She served as the Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Social Work Education from 2013-2016. She is the lead author of Contemporary Human Behavior Theory: A Critical Perspective for Social Work Practice, now in its 4th edition, and the lead author of two monographs on drug abuse prevention and numerous journal articles. She is also a contributing author to the Encyclopedia of Social Work and the Social Workers' Desk Reference. She is the 2016 recipient of the Sol Gothard Lifetime Achievement Award from the National Organization of Forensic Social Work, the 2024 recipient of the 1914 Distinguished Alumni Award in Academia and Research, Tulane School of Social Work and a 2024 inductee NASW Social Work Pioneer Award, NASW Foundation.
