Julia J. Scott, MSW, is an Assistant Director at the University of Maryland School of Social Work. Born and raised in Northeast Baltimore, Julia uses Social Work’s Ethical Principles to drive collaboration and engagement and develop education, programs, and events for the School of Social Work, local organizations, and community spaces.
Her interests revolve around using the humanities, pop culture, social work, and social justice frameworks to approach community building, leadership programming, liberatory education, and healing. Julia earned a Bachelor of Arts in English from Morgan State University and her Master of Social Work from the University of Maryland School of Social Work. She is a proud Baltimorean who believes that social justice and culturally competent dialogue, collaboration, and engagement are vital to building and sustaining a Beloved Community.
