Dr. Sukyung Yoon is deeply committed to investigating the situations and needs of vulnerable older populations and to empowering members of these populations to enjoy happier and healthier later lives. Applying a life-course perspective and the stress-process model, Dr. Yoon is interested in identifying protective factors that offer inner strengths to reduce or prevent the cumulative and negative impacts of adversity on mental and physical health over the lifespans of vulnerable older adults, including immigrants, Native Americans, and violence survivors.
