Participating in Interdisciplinary SIGs: Leading Process Groups for Gender-Affirming Endocrinologists

This workshop highlights interdisciplinary collaboration in fostering health equity and support. Drawing from our experience leading a process group for gender-affirming endocrinologists, we’ll explore how healthcare providers and professional organizations can create spaces to reflect on the socio-political stressors and advance equitable care for marginalized populations

Learning Objectives:

At the end of this session, attendees should be able to:
  1. Address Barriers to Trans-Affirming Medical Care Participants will identify common barriers and biases faced by gender affirming medical care providers in the current sociopolitical moment and explore actionable, interdisciplinary solutions for improving gender affirming care for transgender and nonbinary individuals.
  2. Enhance Collaboration in Interdisciplinary Teams Participants will develop strategies for fostering effective communication and collaboration within interdisciplinary special interest groups to improve trans-affirming medical care.
  3. Facilitate Inclusive and Supportive Process Groups Participants will learn techniques to lead process groups that support medical providers in addressing challenges, sharing best practices, and building confidence in providing gender-affirming care.
