Indigenous peoples, particularly those with disabilities, are among the most marginalized people in the world. This presentation addresses global, national, and local advocacy for Indigenous peoples’ rights, including the rights of Indigenous persons with disabilities, and calls on social work education to step up to help fill UNDRIP implementation gaps.

At the end of this session, attendees should be able to:
Upon completion, the participant will be able to identify implementation gaps of UNDRIP, paying special attention to Article 21 concerning Indigenous persons with disabilities.
Upon completion, the participant will be able to take social action based on lessons learned from past successes, current challenges, and future possibilities of drawing on glocal connections for advancing Indigenous peoples’ rights.
Upon completion, the participant will be able to contribute to social work’s role in helping to fill UNDRIP implementation gaps.
