Trauma-Sensitive Leadership in Multidisciplinary Settings: Supports to Staff in Disability Focused Agencies.

As social work continues to expand into more diversified areas of practice, it is critical to ensure that social workers have the tools necessary to be successful leaders. Utilizing Trauma-Sensitive Leadership allows social workers to successfully lead multidisciplinary teams and provide support to the staff and communities served.

Learning Objectives:

At the end of this session, attendees should be able to:
  1. Upon completion, the participant will be able to understand the importance and relevance of preparing future social workers to become leaders in non-traditional settings​, with specific focus on agencies which serve disability needs.
  2. Upon completion, the participant will be able to understand the importance of implementing trauma-sensitive leadership in non-traditional settings​ to address overlooked supports to disability populations.
  3. Upon completion, the participant will be able to understand the importance of recognizing and managing staff unfamiliar with the concepts of trauma and burnout and disadvantaged populations and how that impacts the success of the team.
