This session explores the unique challenges disabled veterans face in higher education and examines effective strategies for supporting their academic success. Participants will analyze barriers to achievement, learn approaches for creating inclusive environments, and develop practical solutions to enhance social integration and institutional support for disabled student veterans.

Identify and analyze the primary academic, social, and institutional barriers that disabled veterans face in higher education, with particular focus on mental health and physical disability impacts.
Apply evidence-based strategies to foster an inclusive and supportive academic environment that promotes veteran success and reduces disability-related stigma.
Develop comprehensive approaches to improve social integration of disabled veterans in academic spaces while addressing both visible and invisible disabilities through institutional support systems.
