Using Research on Artificial Intelligence for Students with Multiple Needs in Social Work Education

This poster aims to discuss the multifaceted use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) to address the needs of differently abled students in social work classrooms. The findings illustrated will be based on a recent study conducted by the authors, obtaining student perspectives on AI, its challenges, opportunities, and societal implications.

Learning Objectives:

At the end of this session, attendees should be able to:
  1. Gain awareness of how social work students view AI including its positive and negative aspects, the impact of AI algorithms on consumer behavior, and concerns with AI considering ethical use and risks to privacy.
  2. Provide recommendations about how social work educators can develop AI-equipped curriculums that are aimed at ensuring the needs of students with multiple needs.
  3. To initiate discussions on the future role of AI as per social work educators and possible avenues of interventions while working with students with multiple needs.
