Disability Justice Approaches to Collaborative Research: Centering Disabled Voices

This panel features all disabled scholars across a diversity of social identities who will share innovative ways they have operationalized disability justice principles within their research collaborations and across a variety of research topics, while working to dismantle ableism and white supremacy culture so prevalent in research.

Learning Objectives:

At the end of this session, attendees should be able to:
  1. demonstrate an understanding of concrete and innovative ways scholars have centered disability justice principles across various research partnerships and topics.
  2. demonstrate an understanding of the institutional and systemic opportunities and barriers to operationalizing DJ principles into research scholarship.
  3. engaged in a meaningful dialogue about how they can incorporate these principles into their specific research and into their SW scholarship norms and practices across the field.
