The perspectives of people with psychiatric disabilities should be centered in mental health practice courses, but this rarely occurs. This workshop provides guidance for including first-person perspectives of people with psychiatric disabilities and collaborative space for educators to include the perspectives of people with psychiatric disabilities in MSW courses.

At the end of this session, attendees should be able to:
Upon completion, the participants will be able to summarize the importance of including lived experience perspectives of psychiatric disabilities in mental health practice courses.
Upon completion, the participants will be able to describe different methods of incorporating lived experience of psychiatric disabilities in mental health practice courses including co-instructors, guest lecturers, written accounts, and audio-visual accounts.
Upon completion, the participants will be prepared to effectively incorporate various types of lived experience accounts (e.g., co-instructor, guest speaker, and written, oral, and video) of psychiatric disabilities within mental health practice courses at their institution.
