This study utilizes a community-based participatory research approach to investigate the challenges and potential solutions for improving asthma management for children in public housing. We underscore the need for improved housing conditions, enhanced asthma education, and stronger partnerships between residents, property management, and community health resources to reduce asthma disparities.

Upon completion, the participants will be able to recognize the racial, socioeconomic, and environmental factors contributing to the pediatric asthma disparities for among children living in public housing.
Upon completion, the participants will be able to examine the challenges low-income families face in managing pediatric asthma, including substandard housing conditions especially in public housing, limited access to resources to mitigate at-home environmental asthma triggers, and lack of asthma health information.
Upon completion, the participants will be able to evaluate the role of community health workers, public housing resident leaders, and advocacy efforts in improving asthma outcomes and fostering sustainable, community-driven interventions to reduce asthma disparities.
