Natasha Lee-Johnson earned her PhD in Social Work from Louisiana State University. Her research centers Black women’s reproductive health, with particular attention to perceived risk, disability, and decision-making during pregnancy. Rooted in Black feminist and disability justice frameworks, her work uses mixed methods and community-based participatory research to uncover how systemic inequities shape health experiences and outcomes in Louisiana. She is a Health Policy Research Scholar Alumna with the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation and has received awards from the Society of Social Work Researchers and the American Association of University Women for her research on maternal health. Dr. Lee-Johnson is committed to advancing scholarship and policy that reflect the lived realities of her community and that center healing, agency, and access.
