Peer Specialist and Chemical Dependency Counselor Asst
The Freeman House
As a survivor of sexual exploitation and addiction, Barbara Freeman has successfully maintained her recovery for 15 years. Her journey towards recovery has equipped her with a deep understanding of the challenges faced by survivors and the importance of healing. She has also actively engaged in the community as a liaison, serving as the first graduate of a pilot program within the Franklin County Judicial system in Columbus, Ohio. This program, formally known as the CATCH Court was designed to divert sex trafficked women out of the criminal justice system and into structured support systems. Her direct involvement in this program gave her a unique perspective on the needs of survivors and the impact of intervention programs.
In addition to her personal experiences, she holds certifications as a Peer Specialist and a Chemical Dependency Counselor Assistant. These professional qualifications enhance her ability to provide support and guidance to individuals on their path to recovery, healing, and self-sufficiency.
