Dr. Papciak completed his PhD at Barry University focusing his grounded theory dissertation on the experiences of trans and nonbinary (TNB) adults in the United States living with gender dysphoria and trauma symptomatology. He previously was the Clinical Director of SunServe, a non-profit LBGTQ+ social service agency based out of Fort Lauderdale, FL and is a licensed clinical social worker in Florida. Dr. Papciak received his MSW from Appalachian State University in Boone, North Carolina. Dr. Papciak has several years of clinical experience working with queer and nonbinary young people and with youth on juvenile probation and families through in-home family therapy. His research is centered on the experiences of transgender adults experiencing gender dysphoria, with particular emphasis on the impacts of gender dysphoria on trauma and resilience.
