Dr. Terri Mitchell is an Associate Professor in the Beaver College of Health Sciences at Appalachian State University, where she has dedicated her career to advancing health education and curriculum development. With a Ph.D. in Health Education and Behavior from the University of Florida, Dr. Mitchell specializes in reproductive health, sexuality education, and the integration of comprehensive health initiatives in school and community settings. She has been a key contributor to statewide initiatives, developing curricula and training programs for educators/community organizations on many health subjects, including sexuality education.
Her work and thirty years of experience continue to impact health education practices by bridging the gap between research, policy, and classroom application, ensuring educators are equipped with the tools to foster healthier classrooms and communities.
