Kim M., Anderson, PhD, is a professor in the School of Social Work at the University of Central Florida (UCF) in Orlando, Florida, USA. She holds a secondary appointment in UCF’s Violence Against Women Faculty Research Cluster. Dr. Anderson is a Faculty Fellow with UCF’s Center for Higher Education Innovation where her interdisciplinary team examines how adverse life events, including experiences of trauma, violence, or chronic stress, impact student wellbeing and academic success. She is committed to creating trauma-informed educational spaces that promote resilience, safety, and belonging for all learners, ultimately contributing to more inclusive and supportive learning environments. This includes developing faculty training, student support strategies, and institutional policies acknowledging the complex realities many students carry into the classroom. Dr. Anderson has developed and taught over 40 courses at the bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral levels. In 2025, she received UCF’s highly competitive Teaching Incentive Program (TIP) award for teaching productivity and teaching excellence.
