Willow is a Bachelor of Social Work student at the University of Maryland, Baltimore County, with an Associate of Arts in Psychology from Harford Community College. Returning to academia after a fourteen-year gap, they have maintained a 4.0 GPA while balancing work, studies, and community involvement. Their academic interests include innovative approaches to social work education, particularly methods that enhance student engagement and practical learning.
Through their previous experience in customer service leadership, Willow has developed strong communication, problem-solving, and teamwork skills that translate into both academic and professional settings. They are also actively involved in community service, including LGBTQIA+ advocacy and recovery-focused community building.
At the CSWE Annual Conference, Willow will present on Gamified Role Play in the Social Work Classroom, sharing insights from their first research project exploring how interactive learning strategies can support student development. As an emerging social work professional, they are eager to contribute to conversations on dynamic, student-centered education while continuing to explore diverse areas of the field.
