Mashura Akilova is a Senior Lecturer in Social Work at Columbia University School of Social Work. Her research, teaching and practice focus on the issues of global social work, child well-being and migration. Her current research studies Central Asian migration to the United States and Unaccompanied Minors in Greece. Dr. Akilova is a co-editor of Integrative Social Work Practice with Refugees, Asylum Seekers and Other Forcibly Displaced Persons.
