María de Lourdes Busó-Torres, is a licensed Social Work with a concentration on Intervention with families with children's and adolescence from the University of Puerto Rico. Currently, she’s working on her dissertation thesis on the genesis of Dance movement therapy in Puerto Rico thorough a Oral History Project. She has distinguish on working with family that have experience violence and have survive it. She also have experience working with Youth at risk from different communities in Puerto Rico. In the last years she have integrated the use of movement analysis and Dance-movement therapy strategies in her work. In 2022 she publish with other fellow Social Work professor a book that was a result from interviews a social work professionals: “Ambitos y escenario del Trabajo Social en Puerto Rico”.
