Dr. Tonia Stott is a Clinical Associate Professor in the School of Social Work at Arizona State University and is the Program Director for the ASU Child Welfare Education Program. She is a child welfare educator, trainer, and researcher. She has over 25 years of practice and teaching experience. Her passion is coaching students and staff in critical thinking and skill development. Her research efforts include those that aim to advance permanency and well-being for children and youth in foster care, particularly transitioning young adults and expectant and parenting young people with foster care histories. She is interested in advancing the competencies of child welfare social workers particularly in the areas of trauma-responsive practice and anti-oppressive practice.
