Dr. Kenya C. Jones is an Associate Professor at Clark Atlanta University School of Social Work and the Program Director for the Center for Interprofessional Education and Collaboration. As a scholar-practitioner and educator, Dr. Jones brings a wealth of expertise in culturally responsive social work practice, disability justice, and interdisciplinary collaboration. Her work focuses on advancing equity, inclusion, and justice in marginalized communities, particularly through the lens of Afrocentric and anti-oppressive frameworks.
Dr. Jones has published extensively on topics such as social justice education, trauma-informed practice, and the integration of reflective insights into professional helping disciplines. She co-authored 'HBCUs Respond: Social Justice and Social Work Education in a Trump Era' and continues to explore the transformative role of historically Black colleges and universities in preparing social workers to lead with integrity and advocacy.
As a guest editor of the upcoming Reflections: Narratives of Professional Helping special issue, Navigating Change: Reflective Insights for Helping Professionals in Shifting Political Landscapes, Dr. Jones along with other guest editors collaborates with interdisciplinary professionals to amplify narratives of resilience and innovation. Her commitment to advancing disability justice within social work education is reflected in her work with students, educators, and practitioners, fostering reflective practice and transformative learning environments.
Dr. Jones is a speaker and workshop facilitator, known for her engaging and thought-provoking presentations that challenge systemic inequities while empowering future social workers to effect meaningful change.
