Dr. Keith Adamson is an Associate Professor, Teaching Stream, at the Factor-Inwentash Faculty of Social Work, where he has taught since 2017. With over 20 years of senior management experience, he has held clinical, leadership, and professional practice roles at Mackenzie Health, Women’s College Hospital, St. Joseph’s Health Centre, and Holland Bloorview Kids Rehabilitation Hospital. His expertise spans social work and interprofessional practice across healthcare settings.
Keith has held key leadership roles, including Past Chair of the Toronto Health Sciences Academic Network on Interprofessional Collaborative Practice, Vice-President at Parkdale Community Health Centre, and Co-Chair of the Mississauga Halton Health Professionals Advisory Committee. As President of the Ontario Association of Social Workers (2014–2018), he spearheaded a provincial strategy to advance evidence-based social work research, public engagement, professional development, and psychotherapy regulation. He currently serves as Past-President on the OASW executive board.
Dr. Adamson’s research focuses on innovative pedagogical approaches to interprofessional education, evolving roles for social work in healthcare, and enhancing compassionate care in social work education through collaboration with service users, clients, and families.
