Professor Mathbor is a tenured Full Professor and Interim Dean of the School of Social Work at Monmouth University, New Jersey, USA. He served as the Program Director, Doctor of Social Work (DSW) in Human Rights Leadership, School of Social Work at Monmouth University from July 1, 2022 to July 30, 2024. Professor Mathbor served as the Associate Dean of the School of Humanities and Social Sciences at Monmouth University from 2006-2014. He is the founding Chair of the Department of Philosophy, Religion, and Interdisciplinary Studies and served as its Chair for two terms for the period 2007-2010 and 2013-2016.
Currently, he is serving as Chair of the Commission on Global Social Work Education, a Commission of the Council on Social Work Education (CSWE, the accreditation agency for 900 social work educational programs in 800 universities), USA, and Member of the Board of Directors of CSWE. Also, he is serving as President of the North American and Caribbean Association of School of Social Work (NACASSW), and Vice President of the International Association of Schools of Social Work (IASSW). He served as an Alternate Advisor Member of the National Executive board of Phi Eta Sigma National Freshman Honor Society from 2018-2022, the oldest honors society in the USA established 1922. He served as President of the American Institute of Bangladesh Studies (AIBS) for two consecutive terms from 2012-2016-2020, and served as a Member of the Board of Directors of the Council on American Overseas Research Centers (CAORC), USA from 2012-2020.
