Dr. Sevaughn Banks has over three decades of social work practitioner experience, which drives her teaching, scholarship, and service. Dr. Banks is a distinguished global professor with a passion for social justice, community well-being, and community development. Dr. Banks’ research focuses on empowering marginalized global populations and advocating for inclusive policies. As an educator, Dr. Banks inspires students to think critically about social issues and equips them with tools to create positive changes in our global society.
Dr. Sevaughn Banks, a distinguished figure in workforce development across Ghana, Liberia, and Nigeria, brings forth a wealth of expertise in human rights advocacy and women's empowerment. As a visiting Scholar at the University of Ghana's Department of Social Work, Dr. Banks facilitated groundbreaking guest lectures, propelling dialogues on critical issues. Notably, her leadership spearheaded the Master of Social Work Department's inaugural faculty-led study abroad program to Ghana, marking a pivotal moment in academic exchange.
Dr. Banks’s scholarly pursuits garnered acclaim, including grants from esteemed bodies such as the Council on Social Work Education (CSWE) Kendall Institute for International Social Work.
