Leanne Rupp, MSW, LCSW, is the Executive Director of the Colorado Chapter of the National Association of Social Workers (NASW), where she leads statewide advocacy, workforce development, and professional advancement initiatives on behalf of Colorado’s social work community. A licensed clinical social worker with extensive experience in integrated healthcare, behavioral health policy, and coalition leadership, Leanne has spent her career at the intersection of direct practice and systems change.
She has served as a key leader in multiple legislative efforts to modernize Colorado’s Mental Health Practice Act, expand access to the social work profession, and advance regulatory reform that upholds rigorous practice standards while strengthening the workforce pipeline. Leanne is also deeply engaged in national licensure policy, including the development and implementation of the Social Work Interstate Licensure Compact. Guided by a commitment to equity, inclusion, and human rights, she works to ensure that the voices of social workers — and the communities they serve — shape the policies and systems that impact practice.
