Dr. Tiffany Welch is a Professor of Social Work and Assistant Chair at Commonwealth University. Dr. Welch is also a part-time instructor in the MSW and BSW programs at Capella University. Dr. Welch serves as a consulting editor for The Field Educator. Dr. Welch serves as a Professional Member of the State Board of Social Workers, Marriage and Family Therapists and Professional Counselors in the state of Pennsylvania. Dr. Welch is a licensed social worker in Pennsylvania, New York, and Minnesota and is a permanently certified school social worker in Pennsylvania and New York State. Dr. Welch serves on the board of directors for Harbor Counseling, a nonprofit drug and lcohol outpatient treatment center. Before working in higher education, Dr. Welch worked as a clinical therapist in the community, schools, and the prison setting, providing a range of services to those with drug and alcohol, mental health, and co-occurring disorders. Dr. Welch has presented on multiple occasions on various topics related to mental illness, addiction, and behavior management at the national, state, and local levels. Her current areas of research interest include addiction, behavior management, the stigma surrounding mental health, self-care, and issues surrounding Social Work Regulation.
