Nila Morton is a dedicated disability rights advocate and MSW student at Howard University, expected to graduate in May 2025. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Psychology with a minor in African American Studies from the University of South Carolina in 2022.
Her advocacy work focuses on disability policy, accessibility, and intersectionality. She served as an intern with disability policy advisors Pete Buttigieg and Kelly Buckland, where she contributed to the "Fly with Dignity" policy—a critical initiative ensuring safer air travel for disabled individuals.
Nila has collaborated with the Christopher and Dana Reeve Foundation, where she has spoken about the experiences of Black disabled women in education and the intersections of ableism and racism in healthcare. As a disability advocate, she continues to work toward equity, inclusion, and policy reform for disabled individuals in higher education, healthcare, and public policy.
