Management & Policy Practicum Learning Coordinator / Assistant Professor of Teaching
Rutgers University
Mariann grew up as part of a lake and woods ecosystem, including a human community that loved and cared for them; her first visceral knowing: reciprocity, interconnection. She grew her awareness of innate interconnections with Earth researching water, its use, and gender relations with indigenous Palestinians in the West Bank. In 2001, she embarked on journeys of contemplative practices that support oneness; she now contributes to healing as an ordained member of the Order of Interbeing, the engaged Buddhist mindfulness tradition founded by Thich Nhat Hanh. Mariann adapts and applies the formal analytical disciplines of systems, root cause, risk analysis honed in her previous careers in engineering and international agriculture to social work. She is an assistant professor and management and policy practicum learning coordinator at Rutgers School of Social Work. Mariann also supports healing from trauma, addiction and colonization through her private practice.
