Dr. Brittany Lynch (she/her) is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (NY, NJ, IL), Registered Yoga Teacher, and anti-racist social work educator, researcher, and practitioner. She holds a BA in sociology and political science from The George Washington University, an MSSW with a specialization in marriage and family therapy from the University of Louisville, and a DSW from New York University.
Dr. Lynch considers herself a global citizen, having lived on four continents in roles including exchange student, medical volunteer, English teacher, program coordinator, and Peace Corps volunteer. Her social work experience spans adolescents in residential treatment, child welfare, veterans experiencing chronic homelessness and mental illness, and immigrant/refugee services. Her passion for mentoring social work students led her to higher education, where she now serves as an Assistant Professor and inaugural MSSW Program Director at Iona University, developing a program centered on liberatory social work praxis in interprofessional settings.
Dr. Lynch believes deeply in social work’s power to drive transformative change. Her research focuses on social work education, anti-racism, assessment, and innovation, as well as the mental health and social service experiences of immigrants and refugees. Outside of work, she enjoys sports, international travel, and spending time with her partner, Sean, and their son, an English Bulldog named Biggie Smalls.
