Allen Shamow, PhD, is an assistant professor in the School of Social Work at Northeastern State University. Dr. Shamow holds a PhD in Criminology and Criminal Justice from the University of Missouri-St. Louis, an MSW from Washington University in St. Louis, and a BA in Psychology from Kalamazoo College. Dr. Shamow's research interests focus on the correlates of substance misuse among rural populations, macro-level analyses of family dynamics, and the relationship between religion and social institutions.
