Joseph Bartholomew is an Assistant Professor of Social Work at Ball State University. He obtained his MSW and PhD from Indiana University and his undergraduate degree in Health and Safety Education from Indiana State University. He is a licensed clinical social worker (LCSW) and licensed clinical addiction counselor (LCAC) in Indiana. His research focuses on interprofessional education and collaboration, medication-assisted treatment (MAT), Screening, Brief Intervention, and Referral to Treatment (SBIRT), substance use disorders, stigma theory, social policy, and research communication. His career experience includes practice in community mental health and substance use treatment settings, program development and oversight, outpatient therapy services, and mental health and substance use education training for civic, community, and corporate groups.
