MSW Candidate
University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill
Julia Hubbard is a MSW candidate at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Her concentration is in direct practice with children and families, with a special interest in working with Spanish-speaking children, families, and communities. Julia is passionate about the promotion of disability justice, which is fueled by her lived experience as an invisibly disabled individual who regularly battles chronic pain and chronic fatigue. Julia received her B. A. in Sociology and Hispanic Literature and Culture from UNC-Chapel Hill in 2022 which laid the foundation for her love of social work. As a member of the 3-year MSW program at Chapel Hill, Julia has deepened her dedication to working with underprivileged children in her community. She currently works in Chatham County Public Schools as a mentor for exclusively Spanish-speaking students who experience inadequate housing and are eligible under the McKinney-Vento Act.
