As a proud member of the disability community herself, Kaycee Bills, PhD, LMSW has dedicated her academic and professional social work career advocating for disability issues. Dr. Bills is an Assistant Professor of Social Work at Saint Mary's College, Notre Dame. She received her PhD in Social Work from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville and her MSW from Hawaii Pacific University. Her research interests are inclusion for students with disabilities, academic outcomes for students with disabilities, and AI use in higher education.
Prior to becoming a professor, Dr. Bills worked in disability case management, Medicaid Waiver services, and community mental health as a licensed social worker. Additionally, Dr. Bills is a prior therapeutic foster parent who dedicates her time volunteering as a special education liason for the state of Indiana assisting other foster and adoptive parents. Lastly, Dr. Bills is also the co-founder of a special needs cheerleading squad called the Whitley County Dazzlers. The Dazzlers have made appearances all over the United States and have won two USA Cheer national titles and competed at the 50th Anniversary of the Special Olympic Games held in Chicago, IL.
