Layna Smith, MSS, LSW, brings over 20 years of experience in social work, specializing in organizations, families, and trauma-informed care. She is a proud graduate of Bryn Mawr College School of Social Work and Social Research, where she earned her Master's in Social Services with a clinical concentration. She also holds a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice with a minor in Sociology from Virginia Commonwealth University. Throughout her career, Layna has worked in various roles within local nonprofit organizations in Philadelphia, empowering and promoting change. She has served as a Psychotherapist and Behavioral Specialist, providing therapeutic, trauma-informed services to children and families. As a SWAN Consultant, she supported children with adoption and reunification goals, engaging in play therapy and scrapbooking. Currently, Layna is the Director of Practicum Education, an Adjunct Faculty member at West Chester University, and a social work consultant for a nonprofit. She is a dedicated single mother to a sixteen-year-old daughter, who inspires her advocacy and dedication. Layna serves as the board chair at a local nonprofit, and frequently volunteers in the community. Her commitment to her profession and community drives her efforts to make a positive impact.
