University of Montana
Hannah Knipp [she/her] is an Assistant Professor in the School of Social Work at the University of Montana. Her research focuses on the overlap between educational policy, school practices, and the lived experiences of school stakeholders, particularly students in K-12 public schools. Hannah is currently conducting an institutional ethnography examining how school-based mental health professionals in Montana are impacted by state and federal policies related to sexual orientation and gender identity.
Hannah teaches Human Behavior and the Social Environment and Social Welfare Policy in the BSW program and Advanced Integrated Practice in the MSW program. She values research on teaching practices and is currently conducting two classroom-based research projects: a study on how collaborative BSW-MSW projects impact student learning and an exploratory study on the implementation of ungrading practices in a BSW classroom. Hannah is passionate about classroom pedagogy and fostering student growth.
