Deborah Geer-Gateley is a former publicist within the Downtown Los Angeles art scene. After dedicating fifteen years to the entertainment industry, she is currently pursuing a Master of Social Work at Tennessee State University, where she integrates her passion for social justice with a commitment to community engagement. With over twenty years of experience in experiential and guerrilla marketing, she has cultivated a profound understanding of unconventional and creative forms of activism.
In the late 1990s, Deborah co-published *Redhotmama*, a feminist zine that provided a platform for dissent and featured critiques of art and music. The publication gained significant recognition within a male-dominated milieu, positioning Deborah and her co-publisher as pioneering female voices at zine festivals.
Furthermore, she has spent two years as a lead artist for the non-profit organization The Usual Suspects, which empowers at-risk youth, severely emotionally disabled children in foster care, and individuals facing incarceration through theatrical and writing initiatives.
