Dr. Lisa Macri is an Assistant Professor of Instruction at the University of South Florida School of Social Work. A social work practitioner since 1998, she earned her MSW from Rutgers University in 2007 and her PhD in Public Affairs/Social Work from the University of Central Florida in 2019. Her research examines the impact of institutional factors on policies related to violence against women and children, including Title IX implementation. Dr. Macri's practice and scholarship focus on intimate partner violence, sexual violence, grief and bereavement, feminist social work practice, and social work education. She has served as Director of Field Education at USF and is active in USF's AI in Social Work Taskforce. A social work educator in higher education since 2014, she has extensive experience developing and teaching across the social work curriculum, including online instruction.
