Jacoba Rock, PhD, LCSW (she/they), is a clinical faculty member in the School of Social Work at Boise State University and an adjunct faculty member in the School of Social Work at Simmons University. As an interdisciplinary practitioner-scholar-educator-leader, her work focuses on incarcerated juveniles and young adults serving lengthy sentences, with a particular interest in pathways, assessment and treatment mechanisms, and implications for systemic change including deimplementation efforts. She is a leader in national and state policy initiatives and program development efforts related to trauma-informed care and restorative approaches, as well as the inclusion of criminal legal issues in social work education. Dr. Rock is also actively engaged in the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning, innovatively studying and improving pedagogy for benefit of all students, as well as supporting faculty development across higher education.
