Dr. Habiba Ibrahim is an interdisciplinary policy scholar. Her primary scholarship focuses on refugees, immigrants and the forcibly displaced populations. locally within the United States and globally. Her work has examined the role of institutions and policies in enabling low-income households gain self-reliance through structured support, and health and healthcare services utilization.
In addition to her primary scholarship, as a postdoctoral scholar, she has done several years of research in K-12 policies funded by the National Science Foundation focusing on the disparate impact of school discipline policies and its role in the school-to-prison pipeline.
Her work has been funded by the GHR Foundation, Taylor Geospatial Institute, C2DREAM and Minnesota department of Health.She is currently an assistant professor in the masters of social work program at St. Catherine University, St. Paul, MN. She holds Masters of Social Work from Washington University in St. Louis and PhD in Public Policy from Saint Louis University.
